Business Class Hospitals

Following experiencing the high life on our frights to the US, (read about that here) we got to experience a more unfortunate version of the high life in the form of a trip to the ER and a night’s stay at a *fancy* American hospital. Thankfully, we have travel insurance covering up to £10 million in medical costs so other than having to pay some eye watering deposits on our credit cards, we didn’t have to worry about the cost of care and medication, a luxury we know most American citizens don’t have. I ended up with a bacterial infection in the glands of my face and neck. If any of you remember the noughties classic PC game Theme Hospital, the look was ‘Bloaty Head’ but I had trouble swallowing, pain and a fever too, and treatment wasn’t as simple as having my head popped and reinflated to the right size (IYKYK). At least the food was great, and they let me sprinkle medication into my pudding cup (see pics below.)
